I honestly doubted it was even on the property.
In the upper right hand corner of the Google Maps photo there was a marker for a waterfall. But was it on this property? Or on someone else’s? And were these photos on Google even connected to this land?
Then I began to cautiously wonder…
How big is this waterfall?
5 feet?
25 feet?
The suspense was killing me as I drove the 2 hours from Atlanta to the property to check it out.
5 months prior I had told our agent I wanted a waterfall.
He laughed and then in his most back-to-reality, calming voice said, “Melissa, everyone wants a waterfall.”
I appreciated, and understood, the candor. I also realized it was highly unlikely we’d find developable property with a waterfall on it.
After all, the ideal terrain required for a waterfall and the ideal terrain for a building site are pretty much exactly the opposite. But a girl can dream, right?
So when that tiny mark showed up I had to at least check it out.
Once we arrived on site… well… words just don’t do it justice.
For my real time reaction, check out this video I posted on our Instagram page later that day:
Spoiler alert: I think I say “Holy Cow” about a dozen times. Who even says that phrase anymore?! Apparently I do. HA!
Check out the video and we’ll continue the story tomorrow.
Now…
We’d love to hear from you: When it comes to vacationing, what is something you’ve always wanted but is either hard to find or doesn’t yet exist?
Hit reply and share your answer or let us know anyway we can serve you better.
