AUGUST 13TH Update

We are BLOWN away by everyone's incredible support and belief in us!

In under 24 hours, we raised over $500K and counting! We are incredibly humbled and grateful.

Some of you have been on this journey with us for a while and some are newer — we are thankful for ALL of you! Here’s a high level of past, present, and upcoming work to get everyone on the same page!

What has been done over the past year?:

  • Rezoned from Agriculture other Commercial (called Highway Business in Pickens county)

  • Overall site plan laid out by SPG Civil Engineering

  • Applied and received Land Disturbance Permit, which allows us to do site work + install utilities

  • Applied and received Septic permit, which allows us to instal the septic field (you know… that least desirable but most important part of this process!)

  • Clean up of the amazing 50’ waterfall (all natural!) started months ago and is a work in progress, including the removal of dozens of fallen trees and debris that was clogging up the base of the falls.

  • Finalized building plans for Phase 1, including structural and MEP sign off. Pending building permit once Fire Sprinkler design is approved + Utilities are installed (see below).

  • … and MORE.

What was just recently done?

  • The well on our property was hydrofracked to remove iron sedimentation and increase those gal/min from 3gpm to 12gpm.

  • We have finished our plan with our well specialist for a reserve tank and pump house that will ensure great water pressure for those amazing showers/soaker tubs we are building for you

  • Sprinkler system in design: We’re awaiting the finalized designs from our Fire Sprinkler system (a requirement because we are a commercial property)

  • We are finalizing up the contract with our GC so we can get STARTED on site work! We can’t wait to be under contract with our GC because they are fantastic and bring a LOT of cool experience and craftsmanship to the table that we can’t wait to highlight.

What is going on this week?

  • Tanner has a BIG set of meetings this week on property with our GC, county meetings to make sure we have all the instructions we need for breaking ground (little details like where the permit box goes, etc.), working with our GC to create a custom path through the trees for the construction vehicles to minimize canopy disturbance, etc. (No indiscriminate plowing allowed here!), and a trail company for trail creation!

  • Amicalola power will be our power provider and we are waiting to hear back on a date that they can place the temp pole on our property and get us power!

  • We should have an official break ground start date soon (fingers crossed). We had initially thought beginning of September, but the site crew our GC is using had a delay with their current project. Looking like middle to end of September, but we will let you know as soon as we do! Site work should take 6-8 weeks.

  • We should be finalizing the deal structure that we will start presenting to the investors this week (for the vertical build). Once it gets a one-over from our fantastic attorneys, we’ll start having those conversations — a few of which we already have on the books!

  • We have a VERY specific task of counting the number of already fallen trees + the trees that we will be removed….

… but you’ll have to stay tuned to the next update to find out why we are doing that!

THANK YOU for all your support and for being on this journey with us to build Cypress Resort for you!
